Las fotografías de Louise Dahl-Wolfe encarnan la elegancia clásica que fue el sello distintivo de la fotografía de moda desde sus primeros días, comenzando con Edward Steichen en 1911. Fue contratada por el editor de Harper's Bazaar, Carmel Snow, en 1936, cuando una elegancia formal era la norma. Dahl-Wolfe encarnó un espíritu fresco y decididamente estadounidense en sus colaboraciones en la revista con la Sra. Snow, Alexey Brodovitch y Diana Vreeland hasta 1958. Louise Dahl-Wolfe nació en California y estudió pintura antes de comenzar su carrera como fotógrafa cuando tenía 40 años. Dahl-Wolfe fue descubierto por Edward Steichen, quien organizó su trabajo para ser publicado en Vanity Fair y que incluyó sus fotografías en una exposición en el Museo de Arte Moderno en 1937. Fue contratada por Harper's Bazaar en 1936 y produjo su mejor- trabajo conocido de moda y retratos para la revista (incluyendo 86 portadas) hasta su retiro en 1958. Incluso después de su muerte en 1989, el trabajo de Dahl-Wolfe continúa siendo publicado en libros y exhibido en todo el mundo. Stephanie Pfriender Stylander nació en Nueva York y fue aprendiz del célebre fotógrafo Art Kane después de inspirarse en los fotógrafos que observó en los conciertos de rock and roll. Comenzó a fotografiar moda para clientes editoriales como Glamour, Elle, Interview y Harper’s Bazaar en la década de 1990, lo que llevó a encargos de retratos de destacados actores y músicos.
